My career as an educator and author has brought me far and wide--from growing up in the Bronx, NY, to teaching in Spearfish, SD, and Troy, NY, to my current position in Newport News, VA. In addition to my work in the classroom, I have held many administrative positions, and have written and spoken on a variety of subjects from medieval mysticism to faculty evaluation, from Shakespeare to Paul Valéry. I am particularly interested in the ways technology has influenced modern life--in both good and bad ways--in everything from the ways we read, learn, and remember to the ways we engage in reflection and devotional practices. I am a lover of all things Flintstones, am a devotee of "The Odd Couple," "Northern Exposure," and "The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin," and have always been a fan of the hapless and hopeless NY Jets. You can read my blog at "My Two Cents--Not That Anyone Asked."
